Hardware · SD-10 display unit

Engineered light.
Built to think.

A 10.1-inch glass cockpit display that weighs 1,520 g. That is 27 % lighter than a leading 10.6-inch display in experimental aviation.1 Every component is designed and built in-house, from PCB to software.

Weight

570 g saved on every display.

In a 600 kg aircraft, every gram goes to fuel, baggage or range. The SD-10 gives over half a kilogram back per screen. Add the AI Computer and the pair still weighs less than a conventional display on its own.

AI compute

The only cockpit in its class with a dedicated AI processor.2

The optional Schochman AI Computer puts an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module in the aircraft: 350 g, mounted behind the panel, connected over Ethernet. With a data link, cloud models add more power on top.

Always flying, online or not

The AI Copilot and ATC assistant use a data link and cloud models for extra reasoning power. Flight instruments, engine monitoring and navigation never depend on the connection.

Display

Readable in direct sun.

10.1-inch, 1280 × 800 touchscreen at 850 cd/m². An ambient light sensor sets brightness automatically, from midday glare to night flight.

Power

20 W typical. Two inputs.

Runs on 9–28 V DC with two independent power inputs. Main bus and backup battery switch over automatically, with no pilot action.

Environment

−20 °C to +60 °C.

Active cooling keeps performance steady across the full operating range. Hardware is designed toward DO-160 environmental standards.

1 Based on the manufacturer-published weight of a leading 10.6" display unit for experimental aircraft: 2.09 kg vs. 1.52 kg, unit only, without connector and mounting hardware. October 2026.
2 To the best of our knowledge, among glass cockpit systems for non-certified aircraft, October 2026.
3 Peak INT8 (sparse) AI performance of the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module in its highest power mode, as rated by NVIDIA. Sustained performance depends on the power mode and workload.
