Your Traffic Screen Isn’t Telling You the Whole Story

Schochman Γ— SafeSky: the first glass cockpit* that fuses its own ADS-B receiver with Europe’s live SafeSky traffic network. One screen. Real time. No blind guessing.

Here’s something most avionics brochures won’t tell you. That empty traffic screen isn’t empty sky. It only shows the part of the sky your receiver can hear.

Think of the microlight climbing out of a grass strip with no transponder. The glider circling in the thermal you’re about to fly straight through. The two paragliders working the ridge. The drone hovering at 400 feet over the next field.

To a conventional ADS-B receiver, none of them exist. But they’re out there, and you’re flying right next to them. We decided that wasn’t good enough.

Meet the power couple of traffic awareness

Two companies. Both founded by pilots. Both obsessed with the same question every pilot has asked at least once: “What’s out there that I can’t see?”

πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡° Schochman Aviation: the cockpit that thinks

Schochman builds the AI-assisted glass cockpit for light-sport and general-aviation aircraft. And it builds all of it in-house: the circuit boards, the AHRS and IMU sensors, the ADS-B hardware, the NVIDIA AI brain and every line of software.

It’s the cockpit you can talk to. You get voice control that handles turbulence and accents, and an ATC assistant that transcribes the radio for you. On top of that come synthetic vision, 3D airspace, TAWS, live weather, and an AI copilot that actually understands your flight. Explore every feature β†’

πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ SafeSky: the network that connects the sky

SafeSky was founded in 2021 by six pilots with one mission: create a safer sky, together. In just a few years, they got the sky’s many “tribes” talking to each other.

  • 30+ traffic networks merged into one picture: ADS-B, Mode-S/MLAT, FLARM, OGN, FANET, ADS-L, navigation apps, portable devices and drones
  • Thousands of ground stations across Europe feeding the network
  • 100,000+ active pilots already on board
  • Award-winning, including the 2024 CAASA Air Safety Award

1 + 1 = a whole new sky

Until now, pilots had to pick a side.

Option A: trust your panel-mounted receiver and accept it’s blind to anything without ADS-B Out.
Option B: balance a tablet on your knee and hope the app, the Bluetooth and the battery all cooperate.

The Schochman EFIS refuses to choose. Open Settings β†’ Traffic and select BOTH. You get two completely independent sources, fused into one clean picture.

🟒 Your onboard ADS-B InπŸ”΅ SafeSky network
SuperpowerInstant, local, zero Internet requiredSees what radio can’t: FLARM gliders, microlights, paragliders, drones, app users
SpeedDirect radio, near real-time~1-second updates from native SafeSky users
TogetherMerged. Deduplicated. One picture. Direct radio always wins on overlap.

If the Internet drops, your own radio still has you covered. If an aircraft has no transponder, SafeSky fills the gap. Belt and suspenders. That’s how pilots think. That’s how we built it.

What it feels like in the cockpit

Great traffic awareness isn’t something you read. It’s something you feel in half a second. So we designed every pixel around instinct.

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ Two colors. Zero thinking. Green means your aircraft heard it directly. Cyan means SafeSky delivered it.

✈️ Icons that look like what they are. A glider looks like a glider. A helicopter looks like a helicopter. Each icon rotates to its real heading.

⏱️ See one minute into the future. A dashed line shows where each aircraft will be 60 seconds from now. You’re no longer just reacting. You’re anticipating.

πŸŒ„ Traffic in 3D, where you’d actually look. In synthetic vision, nearby aircraft appear as 3D models at their real altitude, up to 50 km out, exactly where your eyes would search out the window.

🧭 A compass that turns amber, then red. Anything within 2 NM and roughly 2,000 ft lights up amber. Get too close and it turns red, pointing you straight at the threat.

πŸ”Š One word you’ll never ignore: “TRAFFIC.” When an aircraft comes within 3.5 km and 400 ft, the cockpit says it out loud. The alert bar blinks and the compass shows you where to look. It works on any page, even when the traffic screen isn’t open.

Don’t just see. Be seen.

Safety runs both ways. With SafeSky switched on, your Schochman cockpit sends a secure position beacon every second. Your aircraft becomes visible across the SafeSky community of 100,000+ pilots, their apps and their devices, even if you have no ADS-B Out installed.

And here’s the part we love: your aircraft shows up in the network with “Schochman” as its traffic source.

Zero hassle. Seriously.

  • No extra app.
  • No extra hardware.
  • No separate SafeSky account or subscription for Schochman owners for the first 24 months. It’s built right into the cockpit.

Log in to your Schochman account and open SafeSky. Your callsign and aircraft type are already filled in. Flying with a transponder? The cockpit can read your ICAO address automatically, so you never appear twice. A few taps. Done. Go fly.

Why two pioneers just became one force

This isn’t a logo swap. It’s two companies with the same DNA:

βœ” Built by pilots, for pilots. Every design decision on both sides started in a real cockpit.
βœ” Built to connect. SafeSky connects 30+ networks that were never meant to talk. Schochman builds a cockpit that listens to everything: ATC, engine, weather, terrain, traffic.
βœ” Built for everyone. Both teams believe world-class safety shouldn’t depend on the size of your wallet or your airplane.

We met SafeSky’s CEO Tristan Fily at AERO Friedrichshafen 2026. It took about five minutes to realize we’d been solving the same problem from opposite ends.

“What your team is building is really inspiring. We clearly see strong potential synergies between your solution and SafeSky.”

Tristan Fily, CEO, SafeSky

The bottom line

The sky around you is busier than your screen has ever admitted. Now, for the first time, your panel can show you more of it, faster, in one calm and instinctive picture.

See more. Be seen. Fly calmer.

* To the best of our knowledge, Schochman is the first panel-mounted glass cockpit (EFIS) to natively fuse its own onboard ADS-B In receiver with the SafeSky network on a single display. Traffic information is advisory only. It is not a certified TCAS and does not command avoidance maneuvers. Coverage depends on participating aircraft, radio reception, antenna installation and Internet connectivity. Always maintain visual lookout and follow ATC and radio procedures.
